Orașul de astăzi este vestit datorită plajelor ireproșabile (nisip foarte fin de un alb desăvârșit) și culorii de azur a Mării Caraibelor. Bayahibe are doua plaje frecventate de turiști, respectiv plaja Bayahibe și plaja Dominicus. Bayahibe este o localitate liniștită , cu ritmul de viață specific localnicilor de aici, fiind o locație perfectă pentru cei care vor să se odihnească într-un mediu paradisiac. Santo Domingo, officially known as Santo Domingo de Guzman, is the capital and largest city in the Dominican Republic. Its metropolitan population was 2,084,852 inhabitants in 2003 and estimated at 2,253,437 in 2006. The city is located on the Caribbean Sea at the mouth of the river Ozama. Founded by Bartholomew Columbus in 1496, is the oldest inhabited European settlement in the Americas, and was the first Spanish colony in the New World. It lies on the border with the National District (DN, "National District), is bordered on three sides by the Province of Santo Domingo.

The city is famous for resorts such as Playa Dorada and Costa Dorada, located east of San Felipe de Puerto Plata. The only lift in the Caribbean is located in Puerto Plata. With it, you can go up to Pico Isabel de Torres, a mountain with a height of 793 meters. The top of the mountain has a botanical garden and a replica of Christ the Savior, the famous statue in Rio de Janeiro. Since the establishment of La Isabela, the first village in the New World (2 January 1494), Puerto Plata is the first city in the Americas.

Samana, Santa Barbara's full name Samana is a city and municipality in the northeastern province and is the capital of the Dominican Republic Samana. It is located on the north coast of Samana Bay. The city is a major tourist destination and is the main center for organized tours to see whales. The city was founded in 1756 as Santa Barbara de Samana in the governor during the Spanish colonial Francisco Rubio y Peñaranda. Families from the Canary Islands were brought to live in this city and Sabana de la Mar. Santa Barbara was named after Queen Barbara of Braganza, wife of King Ferdinand VI of Spain.
